Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs) are university-qualified professionals that undertake ongoing training and education programs to ensure that they are your most up-to-date and credible source of nutrition information. They are the only nutrition profession recognised by the Australian Government and Medicare. They translate scientific health and nutrition information into practical advice, and practise in line with DAA Professional Standards, including the DAA Code of Professional Conduct and Statement of Ethical Practice.
The Dietitian Serena is an enthusiastic and passionate accredited practicing dietitian and nutritionist with broad experience in managing many different chronic disease conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, gastrointestinal diseases, food intolerances, weight management and disordered eating. Operating out of a number of Medical Centre’s in both the CBD and Sutherland Shire Serena is passionate about helping those in the community to better manage their health conditions through diet and lifestyle. Serena provides a thorough and individualised approach to dietary management and is committed to helping people improve their nutrition related skills and knowledge through realistic and practical advice.
Serena received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, 2014 and has since collected experiences as a private practise dietitian both in Australia and abroad, having spent 6 months in the Philippines contributing to both Government and Non- Government organisations to improve nutrition education throughout schools and address food insecurity within communities.
She is also a published academic who was selected to present her research on child feeding behaviours at the National Dietitians Association of Australia conference in 2015.

If you are on an Enhanced Primary Care plan (EPC) given to you from your GP you will be eligible for a medicare rebate of $52.95 for each Dietitian appointment that your GP has allocated you.
Initial Appointment (60 minutes) - $90 ($37.05 out of pocket).
Review Appointment (30 minutes) - $75 ($22.05 out of pocket).
If you are not on an EPC plan your appointment will be billed privately as per the fees above. If you have private health insurance, please check if you are covered for dietetics prior to your appointment. If you are covered you can collect your rebate with reception on the day using their HICAPS machine.
